themed Print competition: 1 print per member and to be mounted on a 20” x 16” (or 50cm x 40cm) board.
Projected Images:
Max no of projected images per person entered in either format (EPI or Slide) = 2.
EPI file format to only be JPEG. Check your file size, it should be less than 2Mb.
EPI max image dimensions: 1400 wide x 1050 high pixels. In Photoshop, this is done by adjusting the image size by selecting Image > Image Size and changing the pixel dimensions accordingly. DPI can be set to 72 or 300 or any other value, as it really makes no difference when projecting images.
EPI canvas dimensions are to be exactly 1400 wide x 1050 high pixels. The canvas colour can be any colour you like, though black does mask any cropping (or if you have not fully utilised all the pixels) better than any other colour or tone.
In Photoshop, adjusting the canvas size is done by selecting Image > Canvas Size. In the dialog box in New Size, select pixel (instead of cm) from the drop-down list, then tick ‘absolute’ (instead of relative) and set the pixel dimensions as above.
The EPI file title must start with your membership number e.g. ‘116 Damselfly.jpg’ If you can’t remember your number, get in touch with either the Treasurer, the Internal Competition Secretary or the Syllabus Secretary who will be able to advise you of your membership number.
EPI files should be saved in the sRGB format by selecting Edit > Convert to Profile… and in the dialog box under Destination Space, select sRGB IEC61966-2.1 (or sRGB for short) then press OK.
EPIs should be emailed to the Internal Competition Secretary by 6pm, 9 days before the evening of the competition at the very latest to competitions@wiganps.org.uk
Slides must have your name and title on the slide and a spot in the bottom left hand front corner for orientation purposes.
Slides can be handed in to the Internal Competition Secretary 7 days before the evening of the competition at the very latest.
