Wigan Photographic Society was originally formed in 1937 and has had a successful and varied membership of experienced and amateur photographers.

The club meets every week and has comprehensive programme of photography based activities including monthly internal competitions, an annual exhibition, visiting lecturers,  computer and camera workshops.

The club members also arrange at various times during the year, trips out to photograph interesting things & places.

The club also takes part in a number of local competitions against other photographic societies and clubs. This includes an annual exhibition by the Lancashire and Cheshire Photographic Union. Successful selection in this competition can mean that your work will go on to compete in  national competitions.

If you already have an interest in photography or are considering it as a hobby, joining a club can lead to significant improvements in your skill and will also give you access to years of knowledge from the more experienced members.
